Two decades in IT, a decade in crypto

I have worked in IT since 2004 and in cryptocurrency since 2014. I hold a degree in Information Systems and work as a systems administrator. XSF Telecom is where that experience is available to clients.

I came up through the stack rather than into the top of it, and that is the part worth knowing about:

That range is the reason I can talk to a small-business owner about what a backup actually costs and, the same week, read a Solidity contract for what its access control really permits. Very few people in this market have stood at both ends.

The domain you are on, vegamod.com, has been my technology home for years. It started as Vega Modifications doing repair work around Jacksonville. The work has grown into consulting, mining deployment, smart contract auditing and security research, and the business is now registered as XSF Telecom.

How I work

Three habits, and they are the reason clients come back:

• Diagnose before replacing. Parts-swapping until something works is billable and pointless. Finding the fault is neither.
• Change one thing at a time. A machine carrying three simultaneous changes tells you nothing when it fails again.
• Explain it afterwards. You should finish knowing what broke and what would stop it happening twice.
